Gov Dave Fruedenthal 2006

Gov Dave has wonderful day in Wheatland

Gov Dave had a wonderful day in Wheatland on Sept. 14th.  It was a very positive trip as Wheatland citizens came out to express their appreciation for Gov Dave and his willingness to listen.  It all started with a stop at the local Senior Center, where he was greeted with smiles as he visited and gathered signatures from every attendee for the petition to permanently remove the sales tax on food.  From there, he made a brief stop at an American Legion luncheon where he was greeted with a standing ovation and a warm welcome from the crowd.

After visiting a few local businesses, Gov Dave headed to the library for a check presentation.  The librarians there said they were extremely appreciative of the money and were putting it to good use.  After a quick lunch of burgers & root beer floats at the local A&W, it was on to Brown’s to have coffee and discuss local agricultural issues.  A decent crowd was gathered for such a beautiful day and a good discussion surrounding Rock Creek water quality, feed lot regulations, and prevention of boom & bust cycles dominated the afternoon.  He also heard opposition to the Broe land exchange and the local paper interviewed the Governor specifically on this topic.
