Governor Dave and First Lady Nancy celebrated with the Pokes and fans from around the state for UW’s Homecoming on October 14th. They were given a warm welcome by the crowd as they rode in the annual homecoming parade first thing in the morning. After the parade, Dave and Nancy joined alumni for lunch in the Crane-Hill dining area. They ran into old friends and met some new people. Afterward, the two went to Tailgate Park to walk around and of course pay a visit to the “Gov Dave” tent. Volunteers at the tailgate tent handed out various drinks from bottled water to hot cider and hot chocolate. They also answered questions, handed out campaign materials, and asked people to sign the petition to make the removal of sales tax on food permanent. As game time neared, more people began streaming into the park. Governor Dave and the First Lady visited with folks right up until game time. Inside the stadium, fans were in full spirit, cheering on the home team. Governor Dave and Nancy enjoyed cheering on the team as well and especially enjoyed watching the Cowboys beat the Utes!
