On the Campaign Trail with Hillary and Katie

November 4, 2006 - FMC Underground Mine Tour

Today we toured the FMC mine in Sweetwater County. It was so cool! We were also very happy because Bret (our brother) was in town for the election and was able to join. It is the largest underground mine in the world! It is fifteen hundred feet underground and extends under both I-80 and Little America. FMC is a trona mine and a new mining technology called the long wall miner...Read more

November 1-2 - Katie travels with her Dad

This is Katie. Today Dad and I had another long day. We spent the day in Sheridan, starting at Wyoming Sawmills Inc. The first thing we heard at Wyoming Sawmills when we walked in was that we were "Going to get dirty!" It was an extra dusty day because they were processing beetle kill trees that took a long time to... Read more

October 16 - Surprise from Hillary's Friends

This is Hillary. I was very surprised today to receive an email from two good friends, Ann and Andres, who live in California. I hadn't heard from them in a while, and the email didn't have any text in it, just this picture attached ... Read more

October 2-3 - Freudenthal family in Gillette

This is Katie. It has been a busy couple of days on the road in Campbell County. Fortunately Dad, Mom, Hillary, and I, all spent the evening of October 2nd together for some campaigning. We went Door to Door walking and the weather was just about perfect. The wind wasn't blowing and it was a cool fall evening. I'm always glad when we get to go Door to Door because we get to be outside and get a little bit of exercise. I'm always walking fast ... Read more

September 25 - Mailings

We just finished sending out a huge mailing from headquarters! For about four days, we had 20-30 volunteers in the office throughout the day. People came in early in the morning, then were there until 10 at night. Folks seemed to enjoy meeting each other and also reconnecting with people they knew from working on ... Read more

September 12-15 - Katie travels with her mom

This is Katie. Mom and I spent the end of this week on the eastern side of the state. We started driving from Torrington, went to Lusk, Newcastle, Sundance, Wright, Gillette, and down to Casper. It was a very busy schedule and we had a lot of time in the car! It was nice to catch up ... Read more

September 6-8 - Hillary travels with her mom and fiance Anders

This is Hillary. I traveled with Mom and my fiance Anders this week in Lincoln and Sublette Counties. I haven't been there since campaigning with Dad in 2002, so it was fun to see the towns, familiar faces, and all of the changes that have happened in just four years! In Kemmerer, we ate a delicious lunch in the senior center, where Mom .... Read more

August 29-30 - Katie and her mom travel to Goshen and Platte Counties

This is Katie. This week I spent a couple of days with Mom in Goshen County. I traveled with Mom quite a bit in the 2002 Campaign but haven't as much in this campaign partly because she just recently took leave from her law office. I was excited to spend some time on the road with Mom. Our first event was on Tuesday the 29th and we went ... Read more

August 19- 21 - Converse County and Medicine National Bow National Forest

This is Katie. I have been looking forward to these few days for a long time now. Not exactly because we were doing the Douglas State Fair Parade but also because we would finally have couple of days to ourselves. On the 19th we spent the first part of the day in Douglas for State Fair events. Hillary, her Tfiance, Anders and I joined up with some volunteers to help ... Read more

August 3 - 24 - Traveling Separately And With A Moose

Because we're traveling with both Mom and Dad this trip, we're splitting up so that each of us goes with one parent. In Carbon County, Katie accompanied Mom to Saratoga. There, they put up yard signs, talked to local businesses, and did .... Read more

End of July 2006 - Park County Fair

We are working the booth at the Park County Fair for a couple of days. It has been extremely hot in Powell, but we lucked out because our booth is in the air conditioned exhibit hall! Every time we walk outside into the heat to get food or hand out balloons we are thankful for our great booth location. Many people have come by to sign up to volunteer, .... Read more

July 2006 - Sheridan - Sundance - Casper - a rare few days at home

Hillary and I have been in Cheyenne for last couple of days. As the summer is heating up it has been nice to be in headquarters for these days (and even nicer now that we've had a hand-me-down swamp cooler installed!!). It has also been nice to sleep in our own beds for a couple days and get some well-needed rest at home. Read more

June 2006- Encampment - Saratoga - Riverside - Rawlins - Cheyenne

For once, Katie and I actually split up, as she was in Wheatland with my Mom and I was at Superday in Cheyenne. Hard to believe we actually spent a whole day apart, but don't worry - when they finished in Wheatland, Katie came by Superday to make sure I didn't miss her too much! Read more

May 2006 - Casper, Sheridan and Cody

We arrived in downtown Cody hungry and decided to get lunch and make some phone calls from a Mexican restaurant. Our spirits were getting low because we were leaving a lot of messages for folks but not talking with anyone - we were nervous that we wouldn't talk to many people and weren't certain where our day was heading. Thankfully, toward the end of the meal people began calling back! And they continued calling back into the afternoon, and before we knew it our day was packed with meetings, and we couldn't even fit everyone in. Read more
